Speak up - See, say, do something

What do I need to do if someone confides in me?

As a trusted confidant, listen to the person, give advice, or seek advice on the best thing to do.  Make sure you act on concerns promptly.  Use common sense to guide your judgement.

Things to consider as a trusted confidant:

  • Am I protecting the identity of the person who has given feedback or raised a concern?

  • Am I safeguarding their health, safety and wellbeing?

  • Am I recognising the right to a fair process for everyone concerned?
